We are a non-profit organization that seeks to promote the wellness and fellowship of all Korean-American women in Southwest Florida.
We represent Korean-American Women with American spouses in Southwest Florida.
We provide a social environment for Korean-American women in Florida
We educate & assist their understanding of women’s issues and engage in programs and activities to promote Korean-American heritage
We share relevant information with its members for their expedited settlement in Florida
We promote the preservation of Korean culture and traditions through monthly social gatherings, educational opportunities, annual activities, and services.

OUR HISTORY

Lily Kim Hale

The founder & Advisor of KAWASWFL

KAWASWFL was founded by Lily Kim Hale, who collected all the addresses and emails of Korean-American women in the area for over a decade, dreaming of starting KAWA in this area. Lily Kim Hale along with Myong Dusbabek established KAWASWFL in 2020, but due to the outbreak of Covid, it was not successful until January 2021. At that time, Myong Dusbabek became the first President of KAWASWFL.

During Myong’s presidency, she decided with Kim Hale that we needed to establish additional chapters throughout Florida due to the substantial distances for members across the state to attend meetings and events. This initiative started with creating the KAWA Tampa Bay chapter in mid-2021 and the KAWA Orlando chapter in 2022. We have Miami, Jacksonville, and Pensacola in the works for the future.
